East Bali, home to some of the most spectacular scenery on the island, falls under the protective eye of majestic Mount Agung - the island's highest and most sacred volcano which last erupted in 1963. This area of dissimilarities houses much less inhabitants than southern Bali does and takes pride in its crisp white sandy beaches and rugged slopes rising almost vertically for hundreds of meters. The region's clear blue waters and stunning coral reefs have gratified many a traveller for years and are surely to do so for many more to come.
